CLEAR ANSWERS

A few things
you might be wondering.

Official guidance should always be your source of truth.

Read Home Office statutory guidance →
Is VenuePlan Free really free?

Yes. The indicative checker, plain-English guides and starter resources are free, with no account or payment card required.

Does completing a worksheet make my venue compliant?

No. These are planning aids. Check your scope, adapt arrangements to your real premises and implement appropriate procedures. They are not certification or official SIA templates.

When does Martyn’s Law commence?

The main provisions are expected in spring 2027. The government will confirm the exact date. Always check current official guidance.

What is the difference between a Smart Pack and Pro?

Smart Packs are planned personalised document packs at £29 one-off. VenuePlan Pro is a planned management dashboard at £119/year. Both are coming soon; purchasing and public dashboard registration are not open.

Are there free official resources?

Yes. The Home Office, SIA and ProtectUK provide free guidance and are developing further resources and templates. You do not need to buy VenuePlan to prepare.

Do I need an account to download?

No. Download the free PDFs, editable Word documents or complete ZIP directly. Email signup is optional and separate.

Can standard-tier venues have 800 or more people?

Specified premises primarily used for worship, childcare, primary, secondary or further education have special treatment. Higher education is different. Events, mixed uses and exclusions need separate assessment.

How do you use my checker answers?

The checker runs in your browser. We record aggregate starts and completions where privacy preferences permit, not your answers, venue details or security arrangements.
