Last updated 3 November 2026

About these terms

These terms apply to your use of venueplan.co.uk, including the free checker, guides, checklist, sample plan and demo. The site is run by VenuePlan. By using the site you accept these terms.

When paid accounts open, the VenuePlan service will have its own customer terms, which you'll see and agree to before you pay.

Not legal advice

Everything on this site, including the checker results, guides, checklist, sample plan and demo, is general information to help you prepare. It is not legal, security or professional advice and is not tailored to your venue.

VenuePlan is a preparation and record-keeping tool. Using it does not mean your venue meets the requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (Martyn's Law). You are responsible for your own premises and for checking the official guidance on GOV.UK and from the Security Industry Authority (SIA). We are not affiliated with the Home Office, the SIA or any government body.

Dates and details about Martyn's Law (such as when the duties start) are based on published information at the time of writing and may change.

The founding list

Joining the founding list is free and doesn't commit you to anything. We'll email you when VenuePlan opens, and the founding price shown when you joined will be offered to you on the terms described at the time. You can leave the list at any time.

Using the site

  • Use the site lawfully and don't try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to it, including our private admin and team pages.
  • Don't copy large parts of the site or resell our content without permission. You're welcome to use the free checklist and sample plan to prepare your own venue.
  • We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

Our content

The VenuePlan name, logo, website design and written content belong to us or are used with permission. Links to other websites (such as GOV.UK, the SIA and ProtectUK) are for your information; we're not responsible for their content.

Our responsibility to you

We take care to keep the site accurate and working, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or up to date.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the free site and its content, including any business loss or loss of profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy

How we use personal information is explained in our privacy notice at venueplan.co.uk/privacy.
